"When Mick Jagger called Charlie Watts' hotel room to ask where his drummer was, Charlie got dressed, went to Mick's room, punched him in the face, and said, 'Never call me your drummer again, you're my singer, you idiot !'"
- Keith Richards.

Other comments :
-Charlie Watts may not have been the flashy type drummer that some draw their comparisons to but he was one of the best time keepers in the business. He was not only one of the most successful drummers in rock history but a fantastic jazz drummer of which his roots run deep .
-Charlie Watts was the oldest and by far the wisest out of all the Rolling Stones he would Roll his eyes at Keith Richards..and put up with Mick Jagger going solo on different projects eating up the spotlight ... He Rocked on till he passed away ...
-Keith Richards is hardly a reliable source. It’s completely out of character for Charlie Watts to name-call, never mind punch out a bandmate .
-When Charlie punched Mick, he went flying across a buffet spread and on his way out the window (their room was on a canal) until Keith grabbed him before falling out the window. As the story goes, Keith only did it because Mick was wearing Keith's new jacket he just bought...as the story goes .
